- Yasmin Tablets is used for contraception. It contains ethinyl estradiol 0.03 mg and drospirenone 3 mg. It works by preventing the release of egg (ovulation) and affecting sperm movement in the womb to prevent its union with the egg. It also changes the lining of the womb and renders it unsuitable for pregnancy.
- How to use
- The common dose is one tablet once daily. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Yasmin Tablet is to be taken with food. Always consult with your doctor.
- Precautions
- People with the following medical conditions should not take Ethinylestradiol + Drospirenone:
Venous or arterial thrombotic/thromboembolic events
Prodromi of a thrombosis
Migraine with focal neurological symptoms
Diabetes mellitus with vascular involvement
Venous or arterial thrombosis
Pancreatitis
Hypertriglyceridemia
Hepatic disease
Renal insufficiency or acute renal failure
Liver tumors
Sex-steroid influenced malignancies
Vaginal bleeding
Hypersensitivity
Pregnancy
